Prophet

His right side is tattooed with verses from the Bible; his left side, the Koran and Rumi.From his Root Chakra sprout verses that reflect retribution and war, his Heart Chakra speaks of love and forgiveness, his Head, light and deity. As a child of a Pentecostal Evangelist, I experienced the fervor of religious conviction first hand. I understand the fierceness by which passages are taken to heart and assigned meaning. Both texts mirror each other in many ways, though meaning is given according to how and what the believer chooses/wants to accept. This work speaks to the fierceness of such fervent belief and how we absorb it into the fiber of our lives.
